Kent Brown is a golf professional whose career and interest in the game spans more than fifty years.  His first coach and teacher was his father, who cut down a wooden-shafted five iron, for Kent, when he was only six.  His love and passion for the game came almost immediately.  Today he is often kidded by his friends as being one-dimensional.  It is however, his total commitment to his sport, and his life-long desire to improve, and help others to improve, that has set him apart as one of the top teachers in the country.  Even though Kent spends most of his time at junior golf tournaments, and teaching juniors, and adults alike; he has never stopped being a student of the game himself.  Kent feels privileged to have had opportunities for personal interaction with many industry leaders, top instructors, and PGA Tour professionals—most notably, Ben Hogan.  He currently serves on the Southern California PGA Advisory Committee.

Kent played on his high school golf team before playing on scholarship at Cal State Long Beach, where he was  team captain and number-one player in his junior and senior years. After instructing golf in the US Army, Kent turned professional, and joined the mini-tour ranks.  He played competitive tournament golf for almost three years before accepting a position with the Ben Hogan Company in Ft Worth, Texas. It was there at the Ben Hogan Company, Kent continued his learning from the master. During his fifteen years with the Hogan Company, Kent became acquainted with tour player, and prominent golf instructor, Mac Ogrady.  It was under Mac’s watchful eye that Kent developed as a professional’s professional.  It was two years later, when long time friend, Dr. Tim Somerville, and Kent founded the now, world famous, Professional Golfers Career College, with campuses in Temecula, California, Orlando, Florida, and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.  He served as Executive Director of the college for fifteen years, where he also taught Psychology of Golf, gave his students individual golf lessons, and taught them how to teach the game to others.

After selling his interest in PGCC in 2005, Kent accepted a position with the International Junior Golf Tour as the West Coast Director.  In this role, he continues to teach and motivate the next generation of young players.
