During his 39 years in professional golf, Jim Hardy has sought out experiences and opportunities that span the golf profession. Jim passed the PGA Tour Q-School in 1968 and played the Tour full time until March 1974. From then through 1976 he served as head professional at Exmoor Country Club in Highland Park, Illinois.

Jim's national and world-wide best selling instructional book, "The Plane Truth for Golfers", published by McGraw-Hill, spring 05, was his first book. Its mission was to present the science that there are two sets of fundamentals that govern all golf swings rather than just one set. Hardy's second book, "
The Plane Truth for Golfers Master Class" is focused more on the art, or the "how to", of the key swing elements of the two swing types.

Among his students have been Frank Beard, Dave Stockton, Carol Mann, Donna Caponi, Hollis Stacy, Brad Faxon and Mark O’Meara. He currently teaches PGA Tour professionals Peter Jacobsen, Scott McCarron, Tom Pernice, Bob Tway, Olin Browne, Duffy Waldorf, Jay Delsing, Stan Utley, Don Pooley and Graham Marsh. Among the nationally recognized golf instructors who have studied under Jim are Hank Haney, Mike and Sandy LaBauve, Jim Murphy, Laird Small, Martin Hall, Roger Gunn, Paul Gorman, Chris O'Connell, Krista Dunton, Marty Fleckman, EJ Pfister, Carol Mann and Rick Sellers.

2007 PGA National Teacher of the Year Award

Currently ranked #7 in Golf Digest's 50 Greatest Teachers

Named in Golf Magazine's Top 100 Golf Teachers

In addition to Jim's success as a golf instructor, he has enjoyed considerable success as a golf course architect, teaming with former PGA and current Senior Tour player, Peter Jacobsen. Jacobsen/ Hardy Golf Course Design is one of the nation's most active course architecture firms, with projects underway on both coasts and several places in between. Jacobsen Hardy recently signed on with the City of La Quinta, in La Quinta, California, to design the 2nd course at Silver Rock Resort.  www.jimhardygolf.com

AJ Teaching Philosophy - There is no one perfect golf swing. Even on the PGA Tour, the swings of the best ball strikers all have different shapes and styles -- from the classic actions of Tiger Woods and Ernie Els, to the unusual moves of Jim Furyk, John Daly, and Sergio Garcia. But there is one thing these great players all do have in common. The essence of good ball striking is proper use of the club through the impact zone. It's what Tiger, Ernie, Jim, John and Sergio all do exactly alike. And you can learn to do it, too.
