The entire tournament takes place on The Crossings’ large, two-tiered practice putting green. In Round 1, you’ll play 72 holes of medal play. There are four days of Round 1 play; you choose the day you want to play your Round 1:
Monday (September 26), Thursday (September 29), Friday (September 30), or Saturday (October 1). PGA club professionals get preference for Monday and participants from outside of Southern California get preference for Saturday.
A total of 72 golfers will advance to Championship Sunday (October 2). The number of golfers advancing from each day of Round 1 will be determined by the number of participants on each Round 1 day. Round 1 scores do not carry over to Sunday.
The 72 golfers who make it to Championship Sunday will play 36 holes in the morning. After the morning round, the field is cut to the low 24 scores. These 24 golfers will play another 36 holes in the afternoon. The total 72-hole score from Sunday will determine the winner. In the event of a tie, there will be a sudden-death playoff.
Tuesday (September 27) and Wednesday
(September 28) are play-in days, which are golfers not already in
the USPT Championship can try to qualify for Round 1.
